Do you know anybody who would like to contribute to The History Project? We are currently looking for new contributors and team members for all areas of history and are willing to create other catagories for those not already included on the website. If you would like to contribute or know somebody who would then please inform them of our project. We can be contacted at webmaster@thehistoryproject.co.uk, more information available through www.thehistoryproject.co.ukBen, Editor

It would be fascinating if you include a category on "philosophy of history." I have not taken that course yet so I can't spearhead that category. We can also add Asian history (and if you want, we can break it down into regions).

Sounds like a good idea. If you have any work on this area that you would like to forward to me at webmaster@thehistoryproject.co.uk then I will consider adding the new catagories. I have written a number of articles on Theories of War myself and am due to begin a study of 'morals and warfare' soon (hence this weeks discussion) and so I believe I could contribute to at least one of the proposed catagories. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hey Ben, I've noticed a little dip in our activity and it wouldn't be a bad idea to advertise the link on other history based boards. As for the new sections, I could do some material on the balkans. The atomic bomb is another good topic. I also have a handle on the Franco Prussian war and Fredrick the Great. You make any you want and i'll fill them in.

Hey guys,
As requested I have added a new catagory entitled 'European History' which I felt covered a broad enough span of interest to encourage contributions from a great number of areas. I feel discussion on nuclear weapons can be place under the Second World War or Cold War respectively depending on the period and type of nuclear weapons discussed.
Regarding Asian History and Philosophy of History I will add an asian catagory as soon as possible, however for now I think the group would enjoy debating these issues nonetheless on our General Board.
What I will say is that if anybody plans to contribute any substantial piece of argument or thought to any of our forum threads is that I would also ask them to consider submitting their work to the sites main area (www.thehistoryproject.co.uk) for inclusion in our document archive. Again, the site's growing daily and its always nice to include new work.
I've posted a number of messages throughout similar forums as per Andrews suggestion and so I hope we see some results over the weekend. Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll continue to work on it.

By the looks of it, the site is coming off as a forum for contemporary Western history; not that it's bad but I was kind of hoping it would be more wider in scope (like adding categories for ancient civilizations and for other non-Western regions of the globe).
But nonetheless, this site is still probably one of the best history sites I've ever been to (both this forum and The History Project site itself). I am sincerely impressed.

When we originally founded the website six months ago we started with one general history catagory encompassing all periods and perspectives. My general approach as editor since then has been to expand as and when articles are received as I have found that this is a good indictator of areas of interest i.e. whereas we currently do not feature an area on Chinese history; if we were to receive work relating to this period I would have no hesitation in including a specific catagory for this period. The reason I do not do this the other way around (i.e. create the catagory and then wait for the work to arrive) is because it would potentially involve adding dozens of catagories which would remain empty for a long time. However, I think your suggestions are good ones and have taken the time to email a number of people involved in this area suggesting they add their expertise to our archive. Hopefully this will result in some interesting contributions.
In the mean time, if you have any work that currently would not fit into an existing catagory then do not hesitate to email me and I will create one as I add your contribution. Hope this helps,
Ben
