DEUTSCHLAND!
At the turn of the 20th Century the German nation was en route to world domination. Nothing stood in his way. Aside from a war in which the whole world fought against them, they had already won the economic war. In fact, although England began the industrial revolution and then America strongly influenced it, it was Germany that perfected it. As the Germans began to out produce the English, it was English diplomatic manipulation that surrounded Germany on all sides.
Then even in a Great War, with the world as his enemy, Germany almost won! Later after 20 years of rebuilding, even with the terms of Versailles, Germany was back on top. Fought the Whole world once again and again came close to winning.
Now, Germany is not in a position to make any such attempts. Mostly because Gerhard Schroeder had his head so far up Jacques Chirac ass that he was betraying the German people. However, the Germans are a strong people and I wouldn't be surprised if they go for the glory one last time!

Whilst I would never say never I think the chances of Germany trying for world domination again are about the same as the Vatican mounting a campaign to reclaim the Papal States or the citizens of Rome seizing control of the rest of country and launching an armada to win back its empire. All said? I serious doubt any of these evnts will ever happen. Schroder is a shrewd leader, I think are we are going to accuse him of something as serious as betrayal then we should at least back it up with some evidence.

I agree with you that it is highly unlikely. However, I would even go further to say that as the Japanese have proven to be the dominant force in the Orient that they too will try to seize power militarily. The biggest threat that Americans see is China with their large numbers but I believe that if the Japanese went to War with the Chinese right at this moment that the Japanese would win (without outside influences).
Schroder may not be guilty of treason but He has turned his back on the Fathers of the German Nation who would never cooperate with the French.
